  1. NOTICE: MAKE A BACKUP COPY OF CASMGR.CFG BEFORE USING FPCONFIG.EXE!

  3. If you are using a SatisFAXtion board or a Connection Coprocessor with the
  4. newest Intel software (as evidenced by using CASMGR.EXE instead of the
  5. original CCAM.EXE), you will find that your fax log only holds 101 entries.
  6. After that, it starts deleting the oldest entries when new ones are added.
  7. You can turn on the "history" feature which maintains information about
  8. all fax sends and receives, but the information is not as detailed as is
  9. available with the normal log.

  11. Normally, this is okay. But if you send "large" numbers of faxes and want
  12. to be sure that you have a record of the results, you need FPCONFIG.EXE.
  13. All it does is modify your CASMGR.CFG file to increase the maximum
  14. number of log entries allowed before automatic delete.

  16. Simply copy FPCONFIG.EXE to your PC with the Intel fax board and run it.
  17. It will display the current maximum entry amount and allow you to enter
  18. a different amount. You MUST REBOOT to have the new setting become effective.

  20. This program depends on the current Intel software and if the Intel software
  21. is changed, FPCONFIG.EXE may not work. ALWAYS BE SURE TO MAKE A BACKUP
  22. COPY OF CASMGR.CFG before using FPCONFIG.

  24. Increasing the number of allowed log entries is probably NOT necessary
  25. unless you send more than 101 faxes at a time. ALSO, do not increase the
  26. number to some extremely large number. Try to just set the size to meet
  27. your actual requirements. You should continue to DELETE the log entries
  28. after you have printed the log. The more log entries you have, the slower
  29. the fax board software operates.

  31. FPCONFIG.EXE is free for anyone who needs it...and while I have your
  32. attention...Be sure to take a look at FAXPak(tm) which performs many
  33. fax operations from the DOS command line (or from batch files).
